Is it just me or did this winter seem long, frigid, and snow-filled? I’ve done more shovelling this year than in quite some time. Fortunately, the temperature is rising making quick work of dirty snow mounds and wafting the aroma of thawing dog poop into the air. Yes, spring is around the corner and so, too, are the manicured fairways of Augusta, Georgia … on TV anyway, which is more than enough to ease me into the season. Latest Pool News: April 8, 2007 9:30 PM – A new young champ for 2007! Wow, the lead went back and forth. Great action, and thankfully the Masters committee eased up on the course allowing some scoring today. I thought Retief might quietly put on the jacket but he ran into trouble, like a lot of players today. Nice to see Zach rebound from his three-putt on 16 a couple days ago. I wondered if that crushed him, obviously not! His bird on the same hole was poetic justice. Tiger showed glimpses of ... well, of the Tiger .... but couldn't finish. Kinda nice to see he's human.

On to important news: Top Canadian: Mike Wier! A one-under finish for Mikey. Sorry, Ames. Top Lefty: Mike Weir!! Sorry, Phil. Top Australian? Who gives a damn CBS. 

Okay, on to Pool News. Irene Koo, Prison Issue Jumpsuit, cards an even par round to stay at 48 over and win the pool! Her picks of both Stuart Applely, Zack Johnson, and Justin Rose sealed the deal. Earnalot’s Empty Locker, Mr. Ian McLean, secures a solid second place with a 54 over. And, for the second time in pool history we have a tie for third at 62 over: Lawrie Kaplansky, Golf Jesters, takes third place because of his final round score prediction of -8, beating Ash’s c3po team’s prediction of -11. (Recall, the lowest of all predictions was -6)
