2010 Open Golf Pool

As your reigning pool champion, I was told that I must give dedicated poolies a shot at winning back a portion of their previous entries fees. Like the poker player who tries to get up after winning the first big hand, I'm being kindly asked to sit back down to the table. And I will comply.

To the right, I'm including a picture of the guy who finished in second place last year, because, let's face it, he was the real story of the tourney. But I woulda had your picture up, Stewart, if you hadn't worn that God-awful lime green shirt, which clashed with the Open blue.

Latest Pool News: July 18, 2010 - 7:30 PM. Congratulations to Louis Oosthuizen on his commanding seven-stroke victory and  his first major championship.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see much of the final round as I was navigating the QEW at the time, but from early reports I hear I didn’t miss much. But I’m sure the victory still tastes sweet for Louis.

To the pool, congratulations to Bill Hanley’s team Open Ticket for his commanding 14 stroke victory! Bill happened to have on his team Louis, Westwood, Stenson, and Retief who powered his team to the championship. Bill also enters elite pool status now, joining Sanjay Gupta as the only two-time pool champion – and both Bill’s wins have come at the Open.  Second place goes to pool regular, George Lancaster, and his team R Sole. Congrats, George. And finally a tie for third that goes to Steve Siuta’s team, Cardiacs. Steve picked -18 as his winning score; John Penridth’s team, Big Swinging Richard, who also tied with Steve, chose 9 under. Very close, and congrats to John on his first pool performance.
