It’s back to Medinah for the 2006 PGA Championship. Most of the major players from 1999 are back including Tiger, Sergio, and Weirsy. I wish I could write that Mike has conquered the final round jitters, but, ahh, his play of late precludes that sentiment. But I’m an unabashed Weir supporter, so, good luck, Mike, get it done this time around, and put to rest all the negative press (including mine.) It’s actually a very strong field in this major; great players in every category; should be a good pool. Enjoy the conclusion to my 2006 major golf pool slam! Fore!

Latest Pool News:   August 20, 2006 - 8:30 PM: The front nine showed some promise for a Weirsy run; alas, nothing short of a record-breaking round would’ve even come close to awakening the Tiger. What a remarkable performance by Tiger today; we’re fortunate to be witnessing some unbelievable golf mastery by Mr. Woods.

Holding on to his 3rd round lead, Sanjay Gupta, with the golf-god-antagonizing name of Always in the Money, comes through with the pool win, his 2nd (Sanj won my first Masters pool) and our first repeat winner. Finally in the money, Ralph Creighton, Bluenoser, posts a second place finish, and Paul DeVriendt, Paul and Paul 1 our 2006 Masters champ, places a solid third. These are tentative results; I’ll double-check in the morning.

Well, I came last in the pool this tourney, but at least I can say I completed the pool slam! Thanks for entering and making it happen. Look forward to the Masters in ’07. Fore! Click here for more news.
