2009 US Open Golf Pool
Farmingdale, New York June 15-21, 2009 "The pool is bigger than you; the pool is bigger than all of us." So sayeth a portion of you pool aficionados as I pondered a suspension of my online golf gambling activities. I have looked deep inside and agree: welcome to the 2009 US Open golf pool. I have taken up an offer of assistance by long-time pool veteran Ralph Creighton. Ralph's compensation will be in barley format until revenues here at golf pool central, ahh, materialize. Many thanks to Ralph. And, if you, too, think you've got what it takes to pursue a career in online gambling, this golf pool site wants to hear from you. Please send me a resume and your preferred salary in barley format. For the rest of you, make your picks! Good luck. Congrats
to Lucas Glover on his US Open win!
Congrats to Stephen Lawson, G4, on his pool victory! |

Pool News: June 22, 2009: 6:30 PM. Well,
it came down to Lucas and Ricky on the last hole as I suppose it
should’ve. Congrats to Lucas for his US Open title. How
‘bout that? A final round 73 won him the silverware. Lots of
good stories during coverage, which I PVRed: I thought Phil was going
to sprint to the finish with that eagle; I dropped an expletive in
incredulity when Duval canned his third birdie in a row; Mahan and
Fisher looked promising; and I even thought Weirsy had a shot around
the ninth hole. What to say about our beloved Canuck? No flatstick or driver on the weekend makes things tough. As Johnny Miller said, “He had his chances, but frittered them away.” To the pool. Congrats to Stephen Lawson, team G4, last in but first out. Seems Steve only drops into the pool occasionally whenever he needs pocket money. Blackpool Bill, Bill Hanley, maintains a strong finish with a solid second. And tied for third was Marion Deluca’s team Windfall and noted braggart Sanjay Gupta’s team, Thanks for the Father’s Day gift. Based on winning score tie breaker, the Gupta prevails with the purse. He predicted a winning score of -2 to Marion’s educated guess of +5. I did double check things, but I’ll take another look in the morning. If you notice anything incorrect, please let me know. All the details on your teams are here. Thanks for playing all. Enjoy the summer. Fore! More news here. |
